Athira is an Evidence Based Coach, a graduate student in Organizational Dynamics at the University of Pennsylvania, a former Data engineer at Meta and WeWork, and a researcher focused on integrating AI in the workplace
Hi, I’m Athira Das, a Leadership and Organizational Coach. I’ve worked in the tech industry as a data engineer and now combine that experience with a graduate degree in Organizational Dynamics, specializing in Leadership and Organizational Coaching.
With coaching training from industry leaders at the University of Pennsylvania and a passion for research, I love partnering with clients to create the right conditions for their growth and success. I bring a unique perspective combining industry expertise, human psychology, and a deep understanding of team and organizational dynamics.
I grew up in a small village in India, where my father encouraged me to focus on possibilities rather than limitations. He taught me to consider the "why" behind people’s actions instead of judging them.

After completing my Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Biomedical Engineering, I started my career in Bangalore as a Data Scientist at a startup. It was an exciting and dynamic environment where I experienced the challenges and rewards of building something from the ground up.
Seeking to expand my horizons, I moved to Chicago to pursue a Master's degree in Business Analytics. This opened doors to new opportunities and brought me closer to the heart of innovation. I landed my first job in Silicon Valley at WeWork, where I witnessed the fast-paced chaos of a rapidly scaling company. It was a crash course in adaptability, resilience, and understanding how leadership shapes a business's trajectory.
From there, I joined Meta, where I was part of the high-growth Instagram Ads team, focusing on revenue, and later transitioned to the Social Impact team, driving initiatives for positive change. My time at Meta showed me the power of scaling teams and products that could impact millions of lives. Yet, amidst all the success, I realized my true passion lay elsewhere. I became increasingly fascinated by the "why" behind people’s thoughts and actions, and felt drawn to understanding the complex dynamics that shape teams and organizations.
This curiosity led me to coaching. I earned my first certification in Integrated Attachment Theory and began coaching after work hours to gain practical experience. I found it deeply rewarding—coaching felt like being in a state of flow. I knew the tools I used worked, but I didn’t fully understand why. This drive for evidence-based insight led me to the University of Pennsylvania, where I could ground my practice in solid research and theory. My experience in the Leadership and Organizational Coaching Program taught me that theory, practice, lifelong learning, and self-reflection are the key ingredients for effective coaching.
Now, I work with leaders, founders, and teams in tech, helping them navigate growth, improve communication, and build resilient, thriving cultures. My coaching focuses on creating workplace congruence, inspired by Carl Rogers' Person-Centered Therapy. I help leaders align their values with their actions, fostering environments where both they and their teams can thrive.
On a personal note, I live in the Bay Area with my husband, who has been an incredible partner in my journey. I have a passion for acting and am planning to explore a second career in improv—there’s something magical about stepping into new roles and embracing spontaneity.
I’m also learning to embrace the multiple personas within myself—the coach, the data engineer, the researcher, and the performer. Accepting these different facets of my identity has brought me a deeper sense of authenticity and purpose.
If you're a leader ready to grow, inspire, and navigate change with purpose, let’s connect. I’d be honored to support you on your journey.
